Overview
The GMC Sierra 2500 HD is the pickup from GMC for people who need more than their 1500 can offer. More towing and payload, without the compromises of the even more capable 3500 model. This generation of the truck was launched just a year ago, the fifth-generation of Sierra to wear the badge but the latest in a line of trucks stretching back more than a century.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
Just a year old, there are no significant mechanical or appearance changes. GMC has made the innovative MultiPro tailgate standard on SLE model, adding availability to that feature. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto join the truck as available options. Making towing easier are a host of features including trailer length indicator, jack-knife alert, trailer angle indicator, cargo bed view, and rear side view enhancement.
Available Trims
GMC offers the Sierra in base, SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali trims, with two and four-wheel drive and regular, double, and crew cab (the latter pair with standard and long bed options). A 6.6L gas V8 making 401 hp and 464 lb-ft is standard with a six-speed auto. The other engine is a 6.6L Duramax diesel with 445 hp, 910 lb-ft, and a 10-speed auto.
